Gobi Manchurian

This one takes a little bit of time and effort so I made it on a Sunday afternoon for late lunch. I air-fried gobi(cauliflower) rather than deep fried. So its a healthier version of the actual gobi manchurian.


  • In a bowl take all purpose flower (1/2 cup) and corn flour(1 to 2 teaspoon)

  • Add ginger ,garlic, red chili powder, salt and soy sauce

  • Add water as required and whisk to make a batter.

  • You can now add in boiled gobi and deep fry in hot oil or air fry it at 400F for 20mins

  • Keep aside

  • In a wok or pan heat oil and saute garlic

  • Add spring onion and green peppers or any color pepper you have

  • Add chili sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, crushed pepper and salt.

  • Mix and saute for couple of mins.

  • Make corn flour water (2 tsp to 1 cup water) and add it to the pan.

  • Add the cauliflower florets.

  • Stir until all the gobi or cauliflower florets have been coated. Stir couple more mins and the sauce will thicken

  • Garnish with chopped spring onions green eat it as is or with fried rice.
