Fansi Shaak (Green Beans)

This is one of my favorite shaak(curry) to eat. I used to love eating this with plain rice when I was a baby. Now I usually eat it with Khadhi or daal and roti.


This dish can be cooked in instant pot along with your rice in pot-in-pot method.


  1. Cut your beans in small pieces (as pictured). To make it even easier they have pre-cut green beans in the frozen section.

  2. Put the beans in the desired pot, if not putting in directly to the instant pot.

  3. Drizzle three tablespoon oil, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder.

  4. Put one cup water inside of your instant pot. Close the lid and turn your instant pot to 8mins Manual/Pressure cook mode. 12 mins if you are doing pot-in-pot and putting rice together.

  5. Once its done let it natural release pressure and your fansi shaak is ready to it. Serve it with rice or roti.
